Nov. 8: Abet and Aid Punsters Day
Don't blame them, they can't help themselves. They're punsters.
They will take any opportunity provided to them to turn an innocent and
unsuspecting phrase into a painful and tortured pun. They're not all
bad, even writer Henry David Thoreau
was fond of puns and word play. On Abet and Aid Punsters Day Punsters
Unlimited encourages you to laugh not groan at the punsters around you.
Find a pun at Pun of the Day and join the fun.

Nov. 6 is General Election Day
Unless you've been living in space for the past six months, you know that today is General Election Day. Finally. After being inundated with political commercials, politi-bullied (I just made that up) on Facebook, and glossy, expensive paper ads in your snail mail box, the Presidential Election is finally here.
The amount of time, effort and money people have spent trying to sway the vote in states which have made up their minds months ago has been appalling. Most people know how they're going to vote. Arguing, begging, slinging mud and generally annoying voters has not changed our minds. We are all going to vote for the candidate we want in office, or at the very least least we'll vote against who we don't want in office.
* In addition to voting for the President, voters choose their local representatives and answer yes or no to state ballot questions.
It's our right. Get out and vote!

Nov. 3: National Men Make Dinner Day
It's just what men want more of: rules. It's one thing to designate the first Thursday of the month as National Men Make Dinner Day but to add a whole page of rules to go with it? That could be a serious road block on his way to the kitchen. The first thing you need to do is get your man to agree to cook dinner without the promise of a "boy's night out" in return. He can use any recipe he wants but can't barbecue according to the rules and he won't win any creativity points if he uses one of your recipes. Make it easy on him and send him a link to Easy One Dish Dinners or dinner recipes that can be prepared in 30 minutes or less.

Nov. 2 is Cookie Monster Day!
It's not Broccoli Monster Day or Asparagus Monster Day. Some Monsters (and kids, and adults) like cookies. There's nothing wrong with a few cookies when you eat a nutritious diet. You simply can't mess with Cookie Monster.
Decorate cupcakes with shredded coconut tossed in a bag with blue food coloring. Use white chocolate melting wafers for the eyes. Dab a bit of melted chocolate on them. Don't forget to stick a big chocolate chip cookie in his mouth!
* Don't like coconut? Use your frosting piping skills to make Cookie Monster's fur.
* Don't like all that blue dye? Blend some blueberries and add it to your frosting for a nice blue tint.
* Don't like all that frosting? Create Cookie Monster's fur with blueberries!
