June 23: Let it Go Day
Some people are more adept at letting things go than others. We all have platitudes we tell ourselves including these gems:
* It was for the best.
* It is what it is.
* It was meant to be.
Or maybe we turn to the wisdom of others:
“Hanging onto resentment is letting someone you despise live rent-free in your head.” – Ann Landers
“Some of us think holding on makes us strong, but sometimes it is letting go.” — Herman Hesse
“We need in love to practice only this: letting each other go. For holding on comes easily–we do not need to learn it.” – Rainer Maria Rilke
“Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” – Dr. Seuss
Take any inspiration you need to help you achieve the goal of letting go. Make peace with your inner demons, your neighbors, or an old frenemy. Or accept things the way they are, let it go and move on happily.
