July 12: Eat Your Jell-O Day
Happy Birthday, Bill Cosby (born July 12, 1937). If you remember those fun commercials with Bill Cosby pushing the virtues of eating colored gelatin, a.k.a. Jell-O then you get the connection between the holiday and the comedian. But do we really need an excuse to eat Jell-O?
Mosaic Jell-O
The above dessert is gorgeous enough to be in a museum. It's modern, cubist and not ashamed of color. The white part is made with sweetened condensed milk. You'll also need to use multiple packages of colored Jell-O as well as some unflavored KNOX. Kraft has the recipe.
If you don't enjoy the texture of Jell-O, use it to turn an ordinary cake into a moist, tasty and pretty dessert, the gelatin poke cake.
